Review of Vampire Academy (2014) by Will K — 18 Feb 2014
Possibly the worst movie so far this year and I've seen a couple bombs so far (Ahem "I, Frankenstein" and "Devil's Due"). It's incredibly weak, the script is all over the place, there are a number of nauseatingly cheesy lines that will make you shake your head, the acting was really terrible, there is almost nothing to cling on to even for dedicated fans of this type of stuff.
All the characters were unlikable. With some exceptions like "True Blood" and "Let Me In", the idea of a vampire has been beaten into the ground more than any other figure in film history.
Vampires are not meant to be sparkly or cute. Dracula and Nosferatu were the original vampires. This is just downright offensive to the name. Plus the ending clearly leaves it open for a sequel but thankful to the weak box office numbers, the chances of it going through are slim to none.
