The books were much more cohesive and followed a clearer time line. The movie on the other hand was a bad mix of Mean Girls and Scooby-Doo. Very little was explained, and no one seemed to have any idea what they were doing besides "hunting for the bad guy" and wanting to be a horny, attention hungry teenage girl.
