It all plays out with lots of carnage, a bit of hooking-up and a final plea to end the high school obsession with "gossip, snobbiness and slut-shaming." I can imagine "Vampire Academy" being moderately enjoyable for moviegoers who have already read the book and would like to see the places and people they have envisioned, but the rest of us are better off matriculating elsewhere.
