Review of Vamp (1986) by Jeremy S — 26 Mar 2010
Grace Jones was scary enough in human form (anyone remember the Russell Harty interview?), but here, as a bloodthirsty revenant with wild hair and painted face, she was absolutely terrifying. Like 'The Lost Boys', this film is very much of its time, but the dated outfits and nightclub music do not diminish it one bit.
'Vamp' is in places chilling but also has a generous dose of funny moments courtesy of Gedde Watanabe. Well-paced and atmospheric.
