Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Josè M — 01 Nov 2010
An in-depth and thrilling look at this stunningly true story, but as a historical drama it's very hard to take seriously when the entire lineup of German characters is populated by British actors, and the standalone Tom Cruise, who is about as American as you can get.
Ultimately, their universally solid acting saved the film from catastrophe, but their existence leaves this film firmly in the realm of good entertainment, rather than dramatic masterpiece.
