Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Luke R — 31 Dec 2012
A good, no, make that a very good film about the assassination attempts on Adolf Hitler's life.
What jumped out to me was the amazing casting in this film. I would not have picked Tom Cruise for the role if I had the choice, however he was excellent. The supporting cast, including Tom Wilkinson and Bill Nighy to name a few, were superb. Nighy especially was an inspired selection, as he showed his versatility (considering his role in 'Love Actually'!).
The story is well told and quite moving - and it gives you an insight into the goings on during Hitler's regime in the 40's.
'Valkyrie' is a really interesting movie, that I would recommend to just about anyone.
