Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Sean R — 11 Feb 2014
Valkyrie was a historical thriller starring Tom Cruise as Colonel Stauffenberg, the man who tried to internally overthrow the Third Reich during World War II. The plot is very elaborate, but eloquently executed as it follows Stauffenberg's story.
The film uses the suspense aspect to its advantage, allowing for the shocking ending to be as potent as it was. However, the elaborate nature of the plot was often difficult to follow. The acting from Cruise and his costars was amazing as they portrayed their roles of German officers.
This film was put together very well, it is one of those hidden greats, a movie a friend tells you about, one you never heard of until you watched it, but nevertheless, a great movie.
