Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Mel M — 11 Dec 2010
A very gripping story and great movie which would get an "A-". However, Tom Cruise's plain English dialogue was disgusting and got an âFâ? because it invalidated any authenticity of WWII Germany. He acted well; however, he didnâ(TM)t even try a Hoganâ(TM)s Heroes or Indiana Jonesâ(TM) German accent (the rest of the German characters spoke BBC Englishâ"very confusing).
We were able to embrace the movie once we switched the DVDâ(TM)s dialogue to spoken âFRENCHâ? (which we could NOT understand-but sounded WAY cool and more dramatic than hearing Jerry Maguire or Charlie Babbitt from RainMan talking) --and put on English Subtitles to know what the heckâ(TM)s going on. A lot of effort to make this movie work for usâ¦.
