Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Teddy V — 14 Jan 2013
First, I can't stand Tom "bat-shit-insane" Cruise, but this is about the best film he's made in at least a decade. That being the case it's easy to see that he couldn't have pulled this film off alone, the supporting actors and their characters are immensely interesting, and fill the film with enough emotion and punch to make Cruise's "acting" tolerable.
They do a great job, while Cruise just sort of cruise-controls his way through the motions of the script. It's pretty hard to make a film about killing Hitler that people won't at least like a little, but this film is quite a bit better than that.
