I personally enjoyed this better than the overrated Madagasgar. To be sure, it is not up to the "creators of Shrek" label but it is good clean fun which does not overstay its welcome. In fact, at 76 minutes, its runtime is just about right.
Still, I could not help feeling that there was something missing. The age of musical cartoons has gone and if the script doesn't deliver a laugh a minute then the movie starts to drag. I think this could have been a terrific movie, but as is it is still a good, albeit not great, summer faire.
