Review of Valhalla Rising (2009) by Jeffrey W — 04 Jan 2011
What a bunch of fucking babies. People were crying out about how brutal this film was, and while there are some moments in the beginning that have some oomph to them, the film sizzles out and falls into a long meditative trance that left me feeling cold.
It filmed well, and some of the photography is very beautiful, but let me ask you this... is it a triumph if the director films the doldrums and makes it FEEL like the doldrums?
