Review of Valhalla Rising (2009) by Tim W — 15 Mar 2013
Very Disappointing. Don't get me wrong Nicolas Winding Refn can direct, look no further than his classic noir masterpiece "Drive". What this film highly lacks is two major factors which brings the entire atmosphere of the movie down is character development and dialogue.
Throughout the whole duration there is hardly any dialogue exchanged between characters which makes it hard for the viewer to connect and care for the characters. On the plus side though, there is some exceptional cinematography which really showcases the Highlands and dense forests.
