I was into this movie for the first third. I thought the creatures were cool, I liked the giant dog monster chasing Valerian, and the fat blobby guy with the pearl a lot. But Lauraline was so bitchy to start, that when she tried to be nice it seemed fake. The movie slowly became goofy when Rihanna was dancing for Valerian FOREVER, like she just had to try on every outfit. His facial reactions were ridiculous too. He looks about 16, they both do. He looks like a young Benicio del Toro but talks like Keanu Reeves. She just seems like someone out of Mean Girls. What was with the cut of Lauraline drinking out of that cup during the an emotional.

Scene? Then it seems the Commander discovered his English accent at the end of the movie. The special effects are worth seeing, but somewhere in the middle the movie was trying too hard to be playful, and just became silly.
