Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by Halobro678 — 22 Jun 2017
Featuring eye-popping, "Avatar"-level special effects, a confident story and exceptional star turns from both up and coming and A-List cast members, "Valerian and the City Of A Thousand Planets" is an immaculate thrill ride for the ages.
Owing a great deal to Luc Besson's previous feature "The Fifth Element", "Valerian" moves along fast and furiously and invites the viewer to suspend total disbelief and expand one's imagination.
Both Dane Dehaan and Cara Delevingne make for the perfect onscreen coupling as they trade quips and banter all the while tackling an insane, go-for-broke mission. The movie also features a lively soundtrack to boot.
I highly recommend you see this film in all its glory in IMAX and in 3D as it was shot using IMAX and 3-D cameras. Prepare for a fully immersive cinematic experience that won't test your patience and whose VFX are used with utmost care and precision.
