Review of Vacation (2015) by Justin D — 23 Apr 2016
I laughed through the whole thing. It was not predictable as was expected. Ed was the perfect cast for the role. He captured Chevy's zany, innocent, bumbling persona from the first vacation without over selling it and seeming phony.
I think the writing, and casting was on par with the original but different enough to hold my interest. To all the critics saying it's anything less than great, I say, it's another film in the vacation series.
What did you expect? The whole point of the series is to have a good laugh while poking fun at the struggles of managing family dynamics, nothing more. To that point I don't see why this film should be held to a higher standard than any of its predecessors? I knew what to expect and was thoroughly entertained! I can only hope the new Griswold clan films their next family gathering ands keeps the tradition of the original Griswold family.
