Review of Vacation (2015) by Rusty A — 11 Jul 2016
Shouldn't have made this movie. Or at least they shouldn't have linked it to the previous films. The typical Griswald mishaps are replaced with just a pathetic father-figure who is weak to any competition, incompetent when controlling his kids, boring and repetitive when it comes to yearly vacations, etc.
And Clark and Helen now live in San Francisco? WTH?! And they look old and worn out and Clark doesn't seem to be his normal bumbling self and when they try to make him struggle with a guitar it just seemed so forced that he couldn't even pull it off.
Because I love the originals I'll try to ignore I've never seen this film. Now, if you remove the name Griswald, don't include Clark and Helen at all, and replace the title of the film so it has no connection to the previous films, this would have been an okay film I suppose.
But even still it's just a forgetful film at best.
