Review of Vacancy (2007) by Matthew E — 08 Nov 2009
A huge surprise. Vacancy turns out to be one of the creepiest most suspenseful horror I have seen in a very long time. You'll be thinking twice while staying at another hotel.
Luke Wilson stars in his first serious role. Normally he does comdey films. All I can say is that he pulled off this movie so well. I will not be surprised if he started doing more serious roles. He is a great actor and has a lot of talent.
Kate Beckinsale is the co-star in the film. Its always a great treat to see Kate Beckinsale on the screen. She didn't give any bad acting what so ever.
The scares in this movie are very creepy. I was getting chills throughout the movie. The suspense had me sitting on the edge my seat. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I loved the lighting in this film. It just fit the mood and added more of that creepiest.
The reason why this film does not get a 100% rating from me is for two reasons. The first reason was for the look of the blood. It looked really fake. It almost looked like red Kool-Aid. The other reason is because of the ending. The ending didn't grab my attention and ended poorly.
Overall the movie is a great thriller film and should be seen. Luke Wilson did a great job in this movie.
