Review of Vacancy (2007) by Danny R — 03 Jan 2012
A well crafted, highly suspenseful horror film that is superbly directed by Nimrod Antal. It concerns a young couple David and Amy Fox, played by Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale in two superlative performances who get themselves lost on a lonely road and then their car breaks down forcing them to walk on the side of the road until the reach an isolated motel, they encounter a weird desk clerk, played by Frank Whaley in a truly creepy performance as they decide to check in for the night.
When they get to their room they discover a VHS tape on top of VCR, David puts it in the the player and to their horror the fined out that the people who are being terrorize and brutally murdered by two masked men on the tape, which at first they thought was a slasher film, but now they realize that what seeing is real; and that it took place in the same room which they are now in, suddenly there is a hard knocking on the walls.
