Review of Vacancy (1999) by Benjamin L — 23 Aug 2011
Normally I don't like "Folks run from masked bad guy(s), never find a way out, everyone that comes along dies, heroes find stupid way to escape" movies. This one, however, didn't go that way.
It could have easily been about a couple mindlessly falling into trap after trap. Instead, the couple really thought things through and when something went wrong it was because of thought out planning by the baddies or honest mistakes by the stars, not just stupid mistakes.
Luke Wilson never became that machismo dick male character and Kate Beckinsale never became the idiot, whiny woman. All in all, it was fun!
