Review of V/H/S: Viral (2014) by Jacob D — 25 Oct 2014
VHS: Viral is a disappointing and bland horror anthology film. While the film's first short is intriguing and shows potential for the film the rest of the film's shorts are poorly executed and range from bad to atrocious.
Many elements of the film feel rushed and poorly directed with some abysmal camera work and narrative structure. The films last short is an embarrassment to the series and is executed so poorly and features such unlikable characters it's near impossible to sit through.
A social message is implemented into the film, but hinders the film and feels forced and pretentious especially during the film's last act. With the exception of the film's first skit, every character is unlikable and poorly written to the point where any suspense or scares are non existent.
