Review of V/H/S/2 (2013) by Junior I — 04 Aug 2013
One of the best horror film I've seen this year, this incredibly original and terrifying anthology film is an absolute blast from start to finish. What makes this film so impressive is that its a sequel to one of most disappointing films of 2012, it completely improves on every aspect of the original.
The main reason for its success is mainly thanks to the new batch of directors they have at the helm. Adam Wingard (You're Next), Gareth Evans (The Raid), Jason Eisenberg (Hobo With A Shotgun) and Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) all contribute great segments, but it's Evans masterful short "Safe Haven" that will stick with you long after the film is over.
This very scary, brutally violent and insanely intense 40 minutes feature some of the craziest things you will ever see in a horror anthology movie. This segment alone makes this a must see, thankfully the other shorts are also great adding even more value to this well-made opus.
Highly recommended.
