Review of V for Vendetta (2006) by Claire T — 20 Nov 2012
My favorite movie of all time. Unforgettable, suspenseful, spectacular - almost every positive adjective that can be used to describe a movie can be applied here. Hugo weaving simply blew me away in this movie - especially because he could only rely on body language and vocal inflection to convey such a powerful role.
The script's dialogue can be a bit confusing at times, and the plot may feel a little overstuffed, but this can be easily remedied by both putting on the subtitles and watching multiple times (which, believe me, you will want to put this movie right back into the DVD player the second after it's done playing so that you can bask in the glory of its cinematic gold again).
There are so many scenes that I could praise in this movie that it's excessive. The domino scene, the explosive conclusion, the 60 seconds of alliteration...but never mind. Just stop reading right now and go watch this movie.
You will not be disappointed.
