Review of V for Vendetta (2006) by Matthew M — 11 Aug 2013

I have to give credit where it's due to Hugo Weaving's performance as V. You never see his face, and yet you can always tell what he's feeling behind that deliciously creepy mask. At first, my only real nitpick was that the streets of London felt barren, but that was quickly resolved when they explain that there is a curfew, so realistically, no one would be out anyway.

The villain characters are all pretty one-dimensional, but the characters of Evey and V are so strong that it cancels them out. This movie is a great example of why I will always be excited for anything that the Wachowskis have a hand in.
