Review of V for Vendetta (2006) by Rocknblues 8 — 30 Oct 2013

Hugo Weaving stars as a vigilante that's intent on getting revenge on the goverment by destroying what he see's as symbols of the goverments power. In the process, he Hopes to wake up the british people by starting a revolution that will give power back to the people.

Freeing the british people isn't the only motive for V... Years ago he was burned and scared for life by the goverment and he hasn't forgotten. The rebellous fighter seemingly will go to any lengths to bring them down.

He's not alone... Along the way he saves a young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) and she must figure out what her beliefs truly are. Despite V's actions, she remembers that her parents were taken away from her when she was young due to their beliefs. This seemingly gives credit to what V views as a corrupt goverment that seeks to keep the people afraid by setting up attacks and other scare tatics.

Will Evey join him in his quest for change?

V for Vendetta is a very stylish movie that features great dialogue and ask questions that forces the viewers to decide what they view as a freedom figher and a terrorist. Some say this film applauds terriorist acts. I don't believe this to be the case....

I do believe it attempts to get people to see that alot of the terrorist are freedom fighters to somebody else. Also, it might perhaps get you to understand terrorist views and why they become who they are, and why they do what they do... Is Saddam all the badman that people claim? Is the US correct in it's way of stopping terrorist?
