Review of V for Vendetta (2006) by Nicholas F — 13 Mar 2014
Remember, Remember , the fifth of November. Take notes Hunger Games, because this is how you do a movie about the dystopian future. First off, V (Hugo Weaving) is an intelligent, sophisticated, and badass revolutionary who's goal is to free his country from the tyranny of the totalitarian government. This movie not at all promotes terrorism, but rather promotes people to stand up against their oppressive leaders. The common misconception about comic book movies,is that they have to have a whole bunch of action scenes and have a meaningless plot (I'm looking at you Marvel). V for Vendetta goes against all does. and gives us one of the better comic book movies in the last decade. The action scenes were really impressive and memorable, but the movie focuses more on the revolution aspect than the action. What this government does and how its chancellor rose to power is so despicable and cruel that it made you root for V to succeed even more. V had a lot of memorable quotes which were taken directly from real life poetry.
Conclusion: V for Vendetta is very entertaining, featuring interesting takes on oppressive governments and is sure to be though provoking for years to come.
Rating: 5/5.
