Review of V for Vendetta (2006) by Douglas C — 19 Jul 2014
Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot. I don't think you need to have read the graphic novel to appreciate this gripping movie.
It drags a tad in the middle, however, the skilled directions means that ultimately audiences are well-positioned to feel empathetic towards the vigilante terrorist character's motives and actions, though perhaps this comes from its themes of the corruption that can come with absolute power.
Hugo Weaving does an excellent job as the mysterious V - a poetic, intelligent yet ruthless character.
