Review of Used Cars (1980) by Sean W — 18 Apr 2010
I will admit this had the typical curse of the 80s comedies. They rely all on people laughing and do not work on the story at all. So I will say that the story of the film was not that good. But it really could of been worse.
The thing that was enjoyable about this film was the characters. Kurt Kussell was snappy and fun to watch. Joe Flaherty was a playboy who also was very superstitious. Then Frank McRae was the man with catchy one liners that make you laugh.
So this trio was really fun to watch and did make you laugh. Unfortunately, this did at parts try to focus on the story and it would ruin some of the laughter. But there is a scene later in the movie that is pretty crazy with filming at least 50 cars driving in a field all at once.
So it was an ok comedy for its time.
