Review of Us (2019) by Kenmei — 31 Mar 2019
I think I had too high of expectations for this after reading everything I have about it. While the acting was superb throughout the movie, I felt the script kinda glossed over a few things that needed further explanation.
Also the twist at the end of the movie was literally the very first thing I thought it could be after reading the story previews a few months ago. That's probably the biggest problem I have with the movie is that it was nowhere as clever as I was hoping it would be.
It's still a good movie but I feel like the buildup for Peele's second movie had way to high of expectations after "Get Out". I would still recommend this to people who enjoy horror movies as it does a good job at doing that.
But the twist ending was way to easy to predict and, if its possible at this point, the less you know going into this the better.
