I am not quite sure why everyone seems to love this movie. I was a huge fan of Get Out, so I had to go see this, naturally, assuming it would be just as good as its predecessor. I was unfortunately hit with a movie that garnered more laughs from the audience than scares.
The plot was more of a mockery, like Scream or Scary Movie and that's not at all what Peele intended it to be. The performances were good (Particularly from Nyong'o) and the soundtrack was stellar, just like Get Out.
Sadly, this can't make up for a boring, unoriginal plot. The movie was not very engaging, but it had its memorable moments and it wasn't absolutely awful. Honestly, Annihilation is a similar but much better movie than this, so I recommend watching that instead.
