Review of Us (2019) by Thelegendaries — 25 Mar 2019
It's entirely held up by the success of Get Out. A movie with metaphoric hints at the state of racial tension in America. In the same vein as M Night Shyamalan Jordan Peele is building a name for himself with metaphoric meaning and political messages being dropped all over his movies even in the face of hurting the plot and coherency. There are numerous and many unmistakable follies left in the film holes a mile long. It's a mash up of various skits that don't make sense but in this case, the skits are replaced with symbolism that inherently have more meaning to the director than anyone else. Most if not nearly everyone will leave the theater scratching their head wondering why there were so many artist renditions of metaphoric messages.
Jordan Peele is the equivalent of May Ling Lu or Chris Ofili selling **** to idiots, and they're paying millions.
It's absurd, pretentious, and lacks any real creativity. Idiots are eating that **** sandwich however and paying hundred bucks just to taste it.
