Review of Us (2019) by Kman5473 — 22 Mar 2019
Pros: Cinematography, acting, set design, lighting, and the soundtrack. Cons: The story doesn't feel fully flushed-out, doesn't really make a lot of sense, and sets up so many things that have no pay off.
For a film advertised to be a horror film, all of the tension in the film is lost as soon as the doppleganger family gets in the house. From there, we go on this unexpected journey that only kind of makes sense, but is ultimately unsatisfying.
I think this film is worth watching, but I don't think Jordan Peele and his team was given enough time to really create a masterpiece, and instead made a very sophisticated but ultimately rushed film.
