Review of Urban Legend (1998) by Alex B — 07 Sep 2011
Cool teen horror from the post-Scream era. With so many horrors coming out after the success of Scream it was easy to miss the good ones as there were so many shit ones. Fortunately, this was a good one.
Someone has started murdering people in and around a university campus and these aren't just random hack-and-slash murders, they are played out like old Urban Legends and they seem to be following fit redhead Alicia Witt who, along with journalist Jared Leto, want to find out whats going on.
Even though this is influenced by Scream, the decent story, atmosphere and help from the likes of cult legends Robert England and Brad Dourif makes this an entertaining horror film with a few laughs and a whodunnit type storyline.
