Review of Urban Legend (1998) by Julian T — 04 Dec 2011

There's a lot of negative things said about this movie and, is it brilliant? No. Is it really THAT different from most 90's slasher films? No... but it is more original than most and original enough to be entertaining and enjoyable.

Each death coming from famous urban legends is a very simple premise but one that works very well. Great cast too and I can't say the acting was bad by any means. Great small roles by both Robert Englund, who played Freddy Krueger and Brad Dourif, the voice of Chucky.

A good twist too that really isn't that predictable, like most are, not up until near the end, at least. It's simple, but it's good for what it is and if you know what to expect and know what you're in for, it's quite an enjoyable movie.
