Review of Uptown Girls (2003) by Alastriona K — 25 Dec 2008
This movie about a 20 something young woman who's parents died tragically when she was young, finds herself suddenly without a dime and gets a job working for a woman who is a record-producer and who's husband is comatose from an illness or accident we are never told why.
She has a daughter she is detached from emotionally and the young down and out woman (Murphy) is employed as her daughter's (Fanning) nanny. This was okay - not a total stinker and has few very nice moments -but good lawd sitting through the soundtrack and music in this movie was a tough go - (P.
U.). Had the music been better I might have even kicked this another half star - but ..not.
