Review of Uptown Girls (2003) by Liz — 09 Jul 2009
Fabulous movie, that ends with every character (including Ray's mother) - whom previously were in prolong unfortunate predicament - with a happy ending. Dakota Fanning is perfect in her role as the fastidious, mature, rigid child and I'm amazed at her eloquence at delivering sophisticated words in her lines.
Brittany Murphy is spectacular in playing the immature spendthrift heiress who eventually happily learns to work and live life normally. Jesse Spencer is also excellent in his role as the fame emerging singer and he indeed has a great voice (although his video clip for his song was a bit cheaply unsophisticated).
This movie is touching and the themes it conveys will certainly teach you something. Despite this, the beginning part of the movie can get a bit tedious - it starts getting interesting once Molly starts working as a Nanny.
