Review of Upstream Color (2013) by Nancy C — 28 Apr 2013
3/5 --- A beautifully shot movie with so much meaning that it can be interpreted almost any which way, and there are no answers, will leave you feeling awed but bewildered...and that you wish you had cliff notes, a real puzzler that you will want to discuss and question to find out what everything meant. I enjoyed the whole worm-suck-your-life dry analogy, the rest was good but complicated and a bit like "Lost", where I'm not sure even the creators/writers know what they're doing after awhile.
Reminded me of the movies about cults: l "The Sound of My Voice" and "Martha Marcy May Marlene", even the blonde-headed actress was similar...these were done well, this is too up to a point.
