Review of Upstream Color (2013) by Martin C — 08 Sep 2013
There are pigs, lots of close ups of people looking mystified, a worm creature from Wrath of Khan, a bloke who records noises and to round things off collecting stone from the bottom of the pool. Hopes were high after the challenging nature of the directors first film - Primer.
But this just wraps itself up in a big blanket of pretension and never lets you have a peek at what the story might be - just did not get it. For most of the time it just looks as you are watching a Terrence Malick film so it can't even get anything for being original.
