Review of Upstream Color (2013) by Jacob W — 06 Apr 2015
Upstream Color is one of those films that makes you think. This movie is really good. The story will keep you hooked until the very end. The two main characters of the story go through a tragedy that happen to both of them and when you find out what happened to them you feel disgusted.
The film feels new and has a great Mystery and Sci-fi element to it. The acting is great especially from Amy Seimetz. The story feels new and original. The visuals of this film look beautiful. The films just feels like a Stanley Kubrick film because some of the shots in this film feel like a Kubrick film.
Shane Carruth is one of those people to have to watch for because one of these days he's going to direct a masterpiece. Now this film is not for everyone. It's one of those movies you have to watch twice to have a better understanding to figure out what happen.
The film is slow moving. The film is either you love it or hate it and I'm one of those people that really enjoyed the hell out of this film. The film also feels like a Twilight Zone episode because of the Sci-fi elements.
If your into Sci-fi or Mysteries then this is a film you should check out.
