Wait a minute. Science-fiction? To call it mislabeling would be one kind of an understatement. A nihilistic wanna-be mindfuck. There you go with a proper tag. If lacking a proper structure, plot and story is your kind of fix you'd be much better off looking for some Malick's stuff.
He beats Carruth in this game on all fronts and he's not a dispiriting nihilist.
