One gets the distinct impression that Carruth started the development of this movie by making a long list of questions, such things as: why does editing have to clarify the story? What would happen if the audio became a character in a movie? Could I make a science fiction scenario believable with everyday objects? Will an audience believe characters who act irrationally for the entire movie? And so forth.

I cannot say I "liked" the answers he came up with, but I feel like I'd like the list of questions if he had one and decided to share it.
