Review of Upstream Color (2013) by Paul H — 11 Aug 2013
Well, that blew me away. Psychologically, I'm at a loss for words to describe the bold, new strangeness I just witnessed on my TV. Perplexed. Confused. Disoriented. In the end, I understood everything.
.. I think I did at least. This is what's great about experimental indie flicks like Upstream Color, is that if it makes you ponder on the movie afterwards, it did it's job. I'm fully impressed by Shane Carruth and his work as Director, Editor, Producer AND original score Composer.
Bravo! I will be owning both Primer (his 1st film debut) and Upstream Color. This is only his 2nd feature? Yessir. All shot on the Panasonic GH2 with Sigma 85mm f/1.4 if anyone interested.
