I wanted to see this film so badly when it was in production, and now that I have, I'm utterly disappointed. This probably explains why it never got a wide release here in North America. The visuals, while gorgeous, sometimes came across just as amateurish, leaving me confused as to the style "Upside Down" was trying to achieve.
Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess are both actors I like individually, but they had little chemistry together, and the cheesy dialogue didn't help. An intriguing sci-fi Romeo & Juliet storyline, but ultimately, poor execution turned it upside down.
