I'm giving it 5* because it's about time there's a great original film in theaters. Bonus points because none of the stars or filmmakers outwardly hate America (like 99% of Hollywood most certainly does).

I was expecting more blood and gore, so while it was violent, I didn't think it was excessive. Full of elements from great sci-fi films, but it assembles them in a unique way that makes the film enjoyable without feeling like a ripoff.

Whannell is underrated as a writer and director. Always seems to find something fresh and entertaining. Highly recommend this one!
