Possibly the most conceptually interesting science fiction films of the last two decades, Upgrade inhabits a rich world, filled with social dynamics that feel almost too real. Aside from the central drama, the film appears to lift back the curtain as to what the world may look only a decade hence, and it is not necessarily pretty.
