Review of Upgrade (2018) by Merijn J — 17 Aug 2018

This near-future science-fiction diamond-in-the-rough totally exceeded my expectations... and I was actually looking forward to it before I sat down to watch it! It's also a bit of a wish-fulfillment fantasy, the idea of having an entire second personality in your head, offering advice and - when the situation calls for it - taking over your body in such a way that you become an unstoppable one man army, with reflexes faster and martial arts abilities far beyond those of "unenhanced" mortal man.

Also, if you dug VENOM and don't want to wait for its inevitable sequel to get that Eddie Brock feeling back, by all means, check out Upgrade... it's a stone cold hoot!
