Review of Up in the Air (2009) by Tim D — 08 Dec 2011
A wondefully well made movie on the very important topic of downsizing (or the art of firing people and suger coating the devastating act), made all the more relevant in the shadow of the global financial crisis.
Three powerhouse performances from Clooney, Farmiga and Kendrick justify their oscar nominations and give the film and extra edge, that transcends beyond the romantic comedy angle. Full of poignant observations on life, love, fear of commitment and ways of overcoming it, and showing how human dignity can be abused in the name of 'efficiency in economic growth'.
