Review of Up in the Air (2009) by Natalie F — 20 Mar 2014
Up in the Air has managed to fall through the cracks of popular culture, two stars which resonate with the high and low brow alike for their past endeavours and acting capabilities, don't often get celebrated for this film.
I know why, it's because Up in the Air fails to give you what you want from a film, but that doesn't mean what it does give you isn't amazing. A nuanced film that explores human fragility from a varying degree of ages, genders and economic stability.
The film is as much about changes as it is failing to get anywhere, which is suffocating and uncomfortable, two words that I didn't think I could use to compliment a film as much as I do here. The critics got it right this time, this ones a winner.
