Robert Redford has a gift. He understands what makes a story. This movie illustrates his talent beautifully. The story works on multiple levels and may be enjoyed as a romance, or pondered as a social critique engaging in an analytical probing of issues surrounding capitalism, media, art, and justice.

At times a little too overt, at times artfully subtle- the chemistry between Pfieffer and Redford alone makes this movie worth watching. Their relationship is interesting on many levels however, and watching the movie in a philosophical mood provides one with food for thought.
