Review of Up (2009) by Damon R — 23 Jun 2014
Up is yet another win from Pixar. The first 10 minutes of this film WILL make you sad and probably make you cry. It is just a powerful scene. The whole movie brilliantly mixes humor with action and most importantly a most intriguing and special bond between the unlikely pair of an old man and an energetic Boy Scout.
Russell is one of the funniest Pixar characters ever in my opinion, Doug is also very funny the way his voice and speech patterns sound as a dog who can speak, Carl has some clever remarks, and even Kevin who doesn't speak has funny moments with her squawks and feather movement.
What it is truly great about it though is it's many life messages in that maybe the most memorable things in life are the little things. For me that is also true with this film. While the 'Big Things' in this film are quite good in their own right the little details are why this film is great.
