Within the first five minutes you're already digging for the old guy, watching him go through his young years, to getting married, living with his wife happily and eventually her death. This scene has impact, there's no dialogue, just the power of music and animation, it's possibly one of the most moving and touching moments in an animated movie for years.

With dazzling animation bursting to life with lively colours and lots of imagination, Up is simply unmissable and yet another highly rated adventure from Pixar. Voice over work is tremendous and the laughs come fast and loud, but for the techno geeks give this a miss in 3D and stick to 2D.
